The laptops themselves are very good as far as quality goes...good battery life, good design, components aren't bad, if anything does break it's going to be minor stuff like a key on the keyboard falling off. If that happens, all you have to do is buy a new keyboard for your laptop on E-bay for like 15 bucks. That only happened with my Dell though, I doubt that happens to most of them. The catch with Dell is that their customer service is synonymous with atrocious. You will never, and I guarantee never, find more deplorable and pathetic customer service (which includes technical support) than with Dell.

So if you know how to fix computers, Dell's a good bet, otherwise I would be very careful in choosing one. I used to have a Dell and personally switched to Sony myself for my second laptop because I heard they are also top quality and I figure if it's not Dell, customer service can't be /as/ bad.

On the other hand though, if you want a laptop that is completely garbage in terms of quality, Toshiba, Gateway, HP and Compaq will always dissapoint you. :P

We got Dells this last time around. Before I had a Vaio laptop and we had a Mac desktop (odd combo, I know). I don't think I will ever go back to Mac, I just didn't have that great of an experience - I tried it and it just didn't work for me.
Thus far we have had no problems whatsoever with either the desktop or the laptop (which I'm on right now). I got the E1505 and love it. We got them both at the same time, which was about five months ago.

ONE OF THE BEST, if not the best. I have seen Dell in many corporate solutions and they never failed.

So go ahead and work with DELL,

My personal experience i am using 5 DELL Servers personally and have used 20 Servers in office for 2 years. Not a single Hardware Issue.

Thanks DELL

Not the best, but ok for the price.
I recommend costume, my computer has duel graphics cards and processes came with a screen 3year warranty and it was under $1500. If you can get a computer for some that makes them do it! They can get better prices than me or you. I really think DELL is not that great.

Huge company with lots of funding for new technology.

Huge goverment and school contracts make them rich and powerful.

Buying at wholesale makes the price for their computers reasonable to great kind of deals.
