I can't believe you asked that!

The last world cup had a worldwide TV audience of more than 5 billion over the month long event. That's not to mention everyone that traveled to Germany for it. I don't know anyone who travelled to the last Olympic Games but I know at least 30 people who went to Germany.

There's no comparison - World Cup in a landslide.

I would say Olympics as it's a very very old sporting event that dates back ages ago and Olympics covers many sporting evens where as the Fifa World Cup is limited to football (soccer).

More countries would be participating in the Olympic games that are telecasted worldwide so it makes more sense to me for it to be more popular.

In most of the world, I would say the World Cup, because everwhere else people go fanatic over it. Plus, the Olympics has so many events that most people just catch in little of it.
