For the past 2 years i was doing my post graduate in Chennai College, and basically my native and studies are from Trichy. First of all i hestitate to join the college in chennai...b'coz i was thinking of the friends...how will they move with me....really my friends and all the girls were easy going....I love my college, friends, i love chennai....Lots of places to see in chennai and lots of fun in chennai.
At present i'm living in United States, nothing is there in United States when compared to Chennai. I love chennai...not in words...

Rather conservative compared to Bangalore or other cities. My daughter wore jeans and was constantly stared at. In Bangalore, Mumbai and Cochin nobody even looked. Also in Chennai the auto rickshaw drivers are a law unto themselves and rarely run according to the meter, unlike in Bangalore. For a visitor from abroad I would suggest giving Chennai a skip and go to more cosmopolitan cities in India.

If you are planning for casual visit, then it is ok, but if you are moving to that place, then you have to compromise.
