my friend said that overweight people that have alot of excess fat on their upperbody then it is like wearing a big jacket and that is why they get hot so fast and sweat so much. If so is it same for muscle? if someone has alot of muscle and no fat, is it like wearing that big jacket or is it different from being covered in excess bodyfat

Pretty much. I'm overweight and I wonder what its like being skinny. As well as having your thighs rub together when you walk, and getting "shaft" there (thats when you get bruises there that really hurt when you walk!), you sweat alot between your legs, between your fat roles and under your arm pit areas. I'm only telling you this because I plan on losing alot of weight this year, so I'm nearly a former overweight girl. I can't answer this question perfectly, because I'm not obese or anything, but just enough to suffer.

Well I sure wish I could take my jacket off!

And my ski pants too!

We perspire NOT because we are dirty and do not clean ourselves fun4life. Good grief what an ignorant observation.

We perspire because we have more weight to carry around, that is all. And often large people are not in the best of physical condition. We tend to feel the heat more as well. I imagine that is because we are already insulted. I know when I lost a lot of weight, suddenly I learned what it was like to shiver a lot in the winter. When I was in a country where it was 100+ with 100% humidity, I suffered more than my thinner friends. Again, that insulation.

Bodyfat does hold in a lot more heat then muscle. But muscle suggests that the person is phisically fit, and that does make a huge difference on how difficult activities are, and how much you sweat during excersice. Sitting still fat people do swaet at a lower temp that others because of the heat retention

That is not true. There are just as many overweight people that are cold natured. Some people are heavy sweaters because of genetics, some because of underlying medical conditions such as overactive thyroid, hormonal imbalance, low blood sugar, certain medications, overindulgence in spicy foods, caffeine, or a heart condition. Your fat/muscle ratio has little to do with how much you sweat.

I think it's more of a confidence thing, they want to cover themselves and blend in like a piece of furniture. My roommate is bigger and she wears sweats and baggy clothes and jackets all the time. I only wear loose jackets and hoodies when I don't feel like wearing a bra, lol.

I am mostly muscle I am a big girl with a nice body...and I don't feel like I am wearing a heavy jacket...I think depends on how fit you are, what you eat, daily activities, how you feel about yourself overall, your health...because you can be overweight and healthy...it's when you are

well, from what I know fat is yea like the jacket example but muscle is waaaaaaaay different, it helps your body keep its cool and you wont be getting agitaged so quick, fat is more like a burden and it prevents u from going farther than when you'd have extra muscle
MUSCLE=GOOD
EXCESS FAT=BAD
