My daughter can "get" most of the others before 12, through practice and a few math 'tricks,' but she isn't figuring out a pattern after 12x4. Is there any good ways to learn this one?

Unfortunately, you have to start with basic memorization. 12x5=60, 12x6= 72, 12x7=84, and so on. Just repeat them and repeat them until they're second nature. There's no trick to it.

I always had trouble with my 12's. My dad was a general contactor, and he taught me using a tape measure. Three feet is 36 inches, 9 feet is 108 inches, 12 feet is 144 inches.

Times ten plus times two, for example 8x10=80 and 8x2=16. 80 plus 16 equals 96, which is 8x12.
