If you are under 26 then Pacific Beach is full of young singles. Just go to any of the bars/clubs along Garnett Ave.PB is pretty laid back and casual and the bars are fairly cheap. If you are 25 or older I would recomment the Gaslamp quarter downtown, tons of bars and clubs. It's more upscale and trendier than PB, and more expensive. PB is the more college/post college crowd. Downtonw the more young professional crowd.

I think Shaun brings up a good point, we don't know how old you are or what you're looking for, so it's tough to answer the question. If you want to hook up then PB or the Gaslamp are fine, but I've always found that you'll meet more compatible people when you just get out and do things you like. If you like triathlons, try joining a group that trains and go to local competitions. If you like reading, go to book readings, the library, or bookstores.
