Auggie got a thumbs down b/c she is blaming the women that stay, and thinks they provoked the men. Please! Go read a book on domestic violence. Abusers can feel better once they abuse. They go back to acting like everything is normal, b/c they don't see themselves as an evil abuser. They act nice to you to confuse you and lure you in back to their trap. Abusers aren't mean or abusive all of the time. They can be "nice," but that doesn't excuse their actions. No, they're not a normal person and an abusive relationship is NOT a healthy relationship either. Honorable and loving men don't feel good about beating a woman up and they don't toy with you by being nice, being mean, being nice and being mean again.

I have no idea why men batter thier women, I love to eat mine raw, but really, those men are not men, they are little punks, and once behind bars they are even less than little punks. If you have to batter someone, then you don't deserve them.

They have no self esteem. They are cowards. Any man that hits a woman is not a real man. They are also stupid, because for some reason they think that hitting a woman makes them a man.
For your sake, get out of this situation. Be your own person, and if you decide to get into another relationship make sure it is with a real man. Take care and God bless.

They are mentally ill. They don't really see it as beating you so much as they see it as controlling you by causing you to fear them...people like this, if they do not seek help generally end up becoming serial killers...the power they feel in controlling one person becomes an addiction and to feed their addiction the fights will escalate until he literally looks for reasons to get angry...Get out now! you also need to seek treatment (therapy) to recover from what he has already done to you mentally...don't get dragged under with him.

there are lots of reason but i don't think any of them are an excuse for putting up with it. If your being beat you need to get away & get help fast.
