On his first start of the season nonetheless. Here's the real question: Do you think Lalime has a future in Chi-town or will he be headed to sleeker pastures?

I remember how good he was when he first started playing for my Penguins. Now can he be the starter in Chicago? What are we going on? One game back. Come on let's give him a few more to make sure that he truly recovered from the surgery. Still not sure he would stay there as a starter but I think let's see if he can play a rigorous schedule and then say if he can be a starter or not.

The bottom line: All three of Chicago's goalies will be gone next season. Brian Boucher is a solid backup, and probably play elsewhere. Patrick Lalime is finally back on track, and still could be a decent back up, and Nikolai Khabibulin makes too much money, and will be a starter for a contender (Tampa?). Next season, look for the Hawks to usher in Corey Crawford, then anoit him the "goalie of the future". Lalime could serve as a back up to him, or even start once Crawford gets his feet wet.

If the Hawks trade away Khabibulin by trade deadline, it'll be Boucher and Lalime fighting for the starters' job for the rest of the year...

Khabibulin's $6.75 million a year ($27 million over four years) salary will be hard to move. Lalime signed one-year deal, $700,000... so he's a free agent at the end of the year...

I think Lalime will not be in Chicago next year and probably go for a team where he has a legit chance of fighting for a starters job.

If its between he and Boucher he should win out on having a place. I don't think he is going elsewhere, how many times can you believe a guy can resurrect his career!
