No but my neighbor is the queen of renting from rent a center. Her whole house is furnished by them. The furniture is sturdy, and nice, but the downfall is if you can't afford new and you go thru them, you will end up paying double by the time you're done.

If you do use them, try to pay off your furniture in 90 days.

Yeah, a TV set. This is horrible, but when I lost my job, I called them up and arranged to have my payments held until I started work again. A couple of weeks later, I called them up and told them to start taking the payments again. A couple of months roll by, and I realize they never took anything from my account. So I called them again, and told them about the situation, gave them my info and spent twenty minutes on the phone until they said they'd take care of it. I never heard back from them, and they never took a cent from my account.

Now before you get too jealous, a few years later it was stolen, along with my VCR and my 5 disk CD player. So Karma really got me that time.

I wouldn't recommend renting appliances or electronics, because the interest is way too high, and winds up costing waaay more than if you bought it outright, but most stores have good payment plans set up that do not have any interest. Much better route.

Rent to own can be good. You can return the item at any time. It does not show up on your credit as a debt. You can pay weekly. You can chnage your mind on the item you want and get a credit towarn what you change your mind to. You get service direct from them. Though I would try out Aarons Sales and Lease. Its much cheaper and the same concept.

I rented a trailer from U-Haul. I was moving about 90 miles. Instead of wasting the gas making several trips, I saved a lot of money that way.

Yes, I have. It makes more sense to save your money and buy
it in time. That way, you save yourself the buyers remorse and avoid the high interest fees. There are times the deposit is half the cost of the item you are buying anyway. Avoid it.
