I feel bad for her. If she had the personality to become an astronaut, then she is obviously intense and focused all the time. Sounds like she just snapped due to her recent marriage troubles. And, she's probably used to always getting exactly what she wants (in a hard working achiever way, not in a "princess" way).
Of course, I also feel sorry for the lady who got chased and pepper sprayed. But, I don't think Nowak should go to jail.

I don't understand why the media has blown this issue out of proportion. These types of "love triangles", as well as murders, (unfortunately) happen all the time. Most of the people involved in love triangles have jobs. This woman's job just happens to be with NASA. So what? At least she's not working with small children or something. She should face the consequences like anyone else, yes, but the media should give it a rest.

I feel sorry for her and her family. But I feel even MORE sorry for NASA. They are such a respectable government agency that has worked very hard to achieve the respect that they have. She represented some part of NASA and now part of their image will be tarnished not by her actions, but by the ignorant people and media who may generalize events and people. It's great though that she has nice coworkers who have gone to her court appearances.
This woman IS human and nobody is perfect, not even astronauts or doctors. It's not like she flipped out WHILE IN SPACE. Though I do believe she is an undiagnosed bipolar. Watch her interviews, she talks very fast and is very giddy... both can be symptoms of bipolar. Maybe she had a manic episode. But I do truly feel sorry for her, something terrible must have happened to push her to such extremes. Maybe even a build up of things. I think the other astronaut, William, owns part of this as well. I hope he takes some responsibility and I hope NASA hold him accountable in some way. Even if they do like to "stay out of the astronauts' personal lives." Just my opinion.

well, some kind of way, i feel sorry for her children who is being drag into her crazy affair. i think something happen to her mind when she and her husband got separated. maybe she needs therapy or counseling towards relationship. she's been married for a long time with beautiful twin girls and a teenage son. her strange husband is nowhere in the picture, maybe she is under stress with her current lifestyles. the thing im worried is the man she is having an affair with, he should be question as well, so everyone will know the truth.
i am glad that her captain and other fellow co-worker is helping her straightened things out. for such a smart lady, im not sure what cause the sudden outburst. i hope she value her status, being a mom so her children won't get affected with this kind of situation.

I'm just really pissed at her, as I now have to see her sorry face every time I turn on the news! I just want to see how Nasdaq stocks are doing! I don't CARE that she went all psycho, and the diapers, and stuff! Frankly, the only reason people care is the fact that she just HAPPENS to be an astronaut. If she was an accountant, no one would give a crap!

Like most everyone else has mentioned it just proves that we are all human. We all have skeletons in our closet. We all have drama that we deal with. We all have to pay bills and we all have taxes to worry about.
As far as Nowak goes I wish they would leave her alone. She's probably just stressed and then finally snapped. She needs counseling and time to straighten out her life.
