I've run over several animals- don't get the impression that I don't break for animals. I love animals and break for them.
It's just really hard to miss them damn deer when they're running at your truck from the side and can jump right in front of you. What is up with that? I had a buck run into the back of my car last week- I mean he ran into me. Took my little reindeer jack in the box ball off the antenna too.

Yes. I ran over a cat who was sleeping under my car. I felt so sorry for the longest time because I love cats. That was years ago but I still remember the feeling when I think of it!. I can only imagine the feeling one must have hitting a human being!

Lessee... rabbits, squirrels, snakes, possums, skunks (ugh!), turtles, a pheasant, a deer. Living in a rural area, it's impossible to drive without hitting an animal occasionally. I've never hit a dog or a cat, though. I've seen cows and horses that were hit; fortunately, I've never done that, though. The deer was bad enough.

No, my mom and I have always made a point of not hitting anything. Once, we even stopped and saved a rabbit who'd been run over. Poor thing had a broken leg, and was trying to spin itself out of the road, using it's one good leg to attempt to move. We took it to the local vet, that way they could either see how bad it's leg was broken and set it, or euthanize it humanely, that way it didn't keep getting hit. :D

My mom ran over a bunny while we were on our way home from a movie. We were both upset, so she pulled over to see if it was dead or just needed a vet. So she got out of the car and ran over towards it, but she tripped and LANDED on it. It was already dead, which was a blessing I guess, but she had blood and gore all over her. I laughed, she did not.

I ran over a squirrel once. He ran out into the road and did the standard squirrel hesitation thing. I didn't have time to brake.

Not that I know of. There's been a couple times where I've seen frogs hopping in front of my car, but I don't believe I hit them. I'd feel pretty sick if I knew I killed something.
