I think my best friend is gay but he will not tell me. I think he wants too but i dont know what to say to help him. I am married and not gay and if he was i would still be his friend. he has a girlfriend but i just have a feeling. i need help.

Wow, just make him "feel safe." You did me! lol Just tell him that your curious because "he is your friend" and as such you want him to be himself around you and that means "being himself." If he is, you will not care, he's your friend for life, and you could never lose a friend over such a small matter. I would have to trust anyone who was that kind to me. : )

Don't ask him...because it would be really offensive if he's not and he realizes his best friend always thought he was gay and never got the courage ask him til now. If he is just get him to say it on his own. Ther are staight men that are a liitle on the fem/gay side because of upbringings, so he could be straight.

That is, if it would help either of you in any way. It sounds like all it would do is satisfy your own curiosity.
Let him know you support gay rights--take a position on something in the news, tell him you won't vote for someone 'cause they're a homophobe, etc. And let him know he can be himself around you. When he needs to tell (if there's anything to tell), he will.

You can ask him. If he says not or refuses to answer then there is not much else you can do other than continue to be his friend and be supportive of him so that should he be gay and decide to tell someone, he'll consider you a safe ear to listen.

point blank asking can make for really awkward situations. but try to let him know that you are ok with gay people and that you would still be his friend if he was gay.
