The waves in dreams may represent emotional fluctuations.Tidal waves or tsunamis suggest a period of emotional upheaval. Anxiety, stress, and unconscious materials may be coming to the surface and affecting your daily moods. Giant tidal waves may symbolize current emotional unhappiness and psychological stress

There's no scientific evidence for dream interpretation. The only thing that's been found is that we often dream about the things we're thinking about right before we go to sleep: most commonly what happened to us throughout the day. When it comes to dream interpretation, it's important to remember that your interpretation about what it means is as good as anyone elses. Don't overthink it. There actually isn't an unconscious that holds all of our inner desires and motivations. Even if the unconscious does exist, it's unobservable and therefore irrelevant to our interpretation of reality.
