I don't think you can be born gay. I think it is something psychological. Just like a straight person could turn gay or be bisexual. I think that since gays have started being so open about their sexuality, and more and more of this country being so accepting, that people are just jumping on the bandwagon.
You aren't born to speak english/french/spanish, you learn it as you grow. I think this is the same with gay people.

Gays cannot choose to be gay just like straights cannot choose to be straight.

Some people probably do just say they're gay just to get attention. But people who really are born gay, obviously don't. Why would you choose to be gay and live your life in the minority and being told it's a sin, that you can't get married and knowing that your life will never be like you really pictured it. With a wife/husband with kids and so goes the story. The point is, is that people who are gay are open about it because they don't want to hide who they really are, which is great! They live with it and embrace their individuality.
You can't just wake up one day, or after a few bad relationships and decide your going to like someone of the same sex. If someone does that, they would be bisexual, and that might be why you here so many people "change." Sexual orientation is such a large part of who you are as a person. You cannot be influenced or taught your sexual preference.

You are misgiven. There is no absolute straightdom from which everything else deviates. People don't opt to jump on this bandwagon, they recognise it is in the core of them and with the liberalisation of attitudes they feel safer in accepting their natural behaviour.
You'll notice I used the verb recognise and not choose.
Your argument falls when it is flipped and the argument runs " you are not born straight - it's like English/ French/ Spanish, you learn it as you grow"

I agree, but remember that children make choices innoscently sometimes. Also a child could be influenced innoscently. Then make an innoscent choice.
i believe those that say they was born gay, just do not remember what, when , or who influenced them to construct homosexuality. Then they have all that time growing without knowleadge.
It is more of scocieties fault than you think. It goes beyond the fact more gays our out now. There are still children making the same choices from many of the same types of influences without any knowleadge to be able to make a choice that is well thought out. They do not understand the consequences as children.

People are born with a sexual preference.
It is difficult to teach a child to write with their right hand when they have a predisposition to write with their left hand, and gay people have a predisposition to be sexually attracted to the same gender.
For gay people, the sexual attraction to the same sex is as natural as the attraction to the opposite sex is for a straight person.
