I had turned off computer for the week end and was not having any problems. Returned to work and kept getting printer error message "out of paper" when printer was full of paper. No paper jams. After 2 days of troubleshooting I bought a new printer. The new printer works with the other E-Machine in the office with no problem. Installed on my computer and got the error message " out of paper". It does not seem to be a communication problem and since the printer works fine with other computers and is the same error message as old printer I am thinking it is the computer. Any suggestions of what to do next?

I have done all that is contained in these answers. These were the first things I did in an effort to correct whatever the problem is with the computer and or printer. I have several years of experience dealing with computers, printers, installation of software, hardware, etc and that is why I am so frustrated. Simply cannot find what is wrong.

You turned off the old printer, but did you turn off and then restart your computer?
Sometimes simply rebooting the system will correct things.
Have you tried the printer and fax settings? Check them carefully and see if something has changed on it's own.
Good luck! Things like this can make a sane person go bonkers.

Check the alignment of the paper, 2-4 sheets and test. Then load it up, carefully fan the end of the pages several times and place them into the machine .

You should have done that long before shifting things around

Try taking the paper out and putting new paper in first... maybe even turn it off for a minute... after that look in the User Guide.
