Seems to me people are putting too much emphasis on total points and not enough on quality answers.

I think you have something there. I never answer a question for the points -- I answer those questions that perk my interest. Most of the time, I try to give an insightful answer to the query, but I have to say there is a lighter side to me; so sometimes my answer is slightly silly. Honestly, "Best Answer" is most important to me, not only to support the concept of Yahoo! Answers, but when a person chooses my answer as "Best", it is a nice feeling to know someone actually took the time to read my input and valued it, and for a few moments there was a connection between 2 people.
You ask which is most important to us
"Best Answers" versus a whole bunch of points.
And I know you don't want to make a fuss
So I'll tell you my feeling deep within my joints
Is that we play the game in order to help
Any of our "askers" who might need advice
From serious people or those who just "yelp"
And our goal is to inform in a manner that's nice
So when all is said and all is done
I favor "Best Answers" 100 to 1 !!

Neither. I have enough points and best answers. I like to take my time and come up with good answers. I do get a kick when the asker chooses my answer as best.

I honestly don't give a rats a$s about the points, I just enjoy the Q & A.
Getting a Best Answer is nice, though, it means someone liked what I had to say.

I like to get points but I also like to put some thought into my answers. I figure if someone is honestly trying to get help I should respect them enough to have an intelligent reply.

I like to feel like I'm helping people, or making someone laugh, so best answers are always nice...don't give a damn about the points.
You can always tell when someone just answered for the points.

Best answers, easy. I try to answer the obviously fun questions. I'd hate to be held responsible if someone ever took complete leave of their senses and followed my advice on a serious one.

Best Answers. I like to feel that I'm actually helping someone out that's what the site was created for.It doesn't hurt that you get points with each one you get.

We have different oppinion so even if you answer the well its still the questioners decision that makes you the best answer. Both are important and we are all entitled to our own opinion.
