It's hard to get advertising when nobody listens to you!
Seriously..I think the reason's it's failed is because it's just the same Bush-bashing all day long. In my area, we have a local show from 6-8am: Bush-bashing.
Then Will Durst and Willie Brown from 8-10: Bush-bashing Then Al Franken from 10-12: Bush/Conservative/Christian bashing and very bad jokes.
Then George Shultz from 12-2: Bush-bashing
Randi Rhodes from 2-5: Bush-bashing in the heaviest "New Yawkah" accent I've ever heard...and on and on all day long.
O.k. so you hate George Bush already. But it's tired, old and unimaginative and yet all of them claim to represent "Mainstream Americans".
It's no mystery that Air America has died such a quick death.

Hmmm are they selling the furniture yet? Its cold and I need kindling. and with all the crap they were spreading around, it should help the stuff burn real good.
I was kinda hoping some one would have killed the idea at conception... I don't recall the far left having an issue with this idea before.
Wonder why they didn't pull the plug sooner? They never had a problem with that before either, from my understanding.
Ahh well... Farewell, We hardly knew ye... thank goodness for that...
MMMMM.... a fire made from the shattered hopes of the far left.... cozy...

I never listened to it. I did hear that it was sold for almost 4 million. And it's 40 million in debt. It had too much competition to survive: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN. MSNBC. etc. Now this Fairness Doctrine is rearing its ugly head. That's Liberals for you. They can't win in the free market arena so they have to pass a law that forces them into peoples lives. What a bunch of cry babies.

Yet, the left will tell you the only reason liberal talk radio isn't successful is because the people aren't allowed to hear it, which is why we need the Fairness Doctrine, blah, blah, blah...
It doesn't matter thatr nobody actually wants to listen to it...we should have to have it on anyways!

That's because liberals aren't political groupies like many conservatives seem to be. We do our own thinking rather than letting the likes of someone like Rush Limbaugh or the equivalent do it for us. We don't need political gurus because we have confidence in our own abilities to make political judgments without validation from the peanut gallery. So, despite the fact that many of us liberals may agree with many of the points that are made by other liberals on the air, we don't necessarily tune in to them, because we are busy living our own lives, not living vicariously through others.

They don't need radio when they have CBS,NBC and ABC. 95% of the newspapers. The reason conservatives are successful on radio is because they give a different take on the news. Which doesn't involve trashing the troops, trashing America. A lot of optimism.

You're on a roll! I agree, I thought this station sucked from the first minute it came on! All the liberals were quoting everything they heard on it, made me sick.

So what? Lots of businesses go into bankruptcy protection all the time. It's just a way they have of reorganizing and getting more capital lined up.
And while we're on the subject, why shouldn't people have more than one side of the political spectrum available to listen to on their radio? Do you think ONLY Rush, Hannity and O'Reilly should be allowed to spout their beliefs on the public airwaves?
