I can't really describe my voice, but I strain when singing high high notes, and I can barely sing really low notes. Aside from that, I can always sing verses, and I can sometimes sing choruses (most of the time I strain, but I still sound okay). With this description, can you make a guess, or is the detail to vague?

think about a piano.
if you are familiar with the piano then you know about middle C
if your natural singing voice (which is the note you hold most comfortably when singing at a normal volume, under control, and without strain or shortness of breath) is in the middle c range and above to the next key of C then you're alto range. if your natural voice is comfortable above middle C and the next highest you may be mezzo/soprano

versly if you feel more comfortable from middle c to the c to the left of middle c you ar most likely a tenor. and if you feel more comfortable on the lower end of of the keyboard then you may be a baritonr or bass.

most adult males fall somewhere within the tenor or baritone "chest" voice, and most females are alto/soprano voice

Most soprano's can hit a "high" C on the piano that's two C's above middle C. If you can get that you're definitly soprano.
Most baritones are the C two octaves to the left of middle C

If you are female, you might be a mezzo-soprano -- which, as you may have guessed, is between a soprano and an alto and has neither a very high or low range.

However, if you get voice training it is possible that your natural range can be expanded which would impact in which category your voice fits into. A voice teacher also would be able to help you determine in what range your voice is strongest.

But....all in all, if you are singing for fun, just enjoy yourself!

females are either a alto or soprano. males are either a tenor or a bass. in a female it depends of how quietly you are if you are an alto. sopranos have a really high pitched voice. tenors are like the altos but have a soft kind of voice. basses have a deep voice.

kinda high...not real low... how about alto... unless 'mellie' is a guy name... then try tenor ... thats kinda the best place I would put it... if you really need to know.. ask someone to help... like a choir director... or even a piano teacher... but without hearing it... one could never know
good luck

2nd soprano (lower than high soprano voices)
1st alto (higher than low alto voices)

so i'm guessing mezzo-soprano
