I thought Rod Stewart did the opening theme for ST:E. Who actually did the theme, and what is the name of the song?

Russell Watson sang the Enterprise version of "Faith of the Heart" while Rod Stewart sang the version from the movie "Patch Adams" which is where the song is from and it was written by Diane Warren.
