The emergence of vested interests as leaders in the rural and urban sides has been the main reason for the sad state of affairs. As a boy I remember how the muslims, hindus and christians lived harmoniously in our village. Everyone participated in the festivels of every other religious persons...

The motive of vested interests have to be exposed. Children are basically unbiased, there is no conflict in children on the basis of caste and creed.. Only the elders create such feelings of disharmony... Thie should stop. But even teachers and the police in some places are much biased toward certain communities due to the hostility of the later.. The reason is misplaced faith in leadership of some communities that alienates the rest of the community.. The people should be careful to judge the views of their leaders and not blindly follow them taking their poisonous words as true...

If people of broad mind become leaders at all levels the situation would change.. the spate of hostility in some pockets have already made people realise their faults... The generation of dedicated leadership qualities at school, college and other levels would definitely help.

WE can prevent communal clashes in india by just removing the coloum of Community in various applications we have to fill in on various occasions. When we want to remove / prevent communal clashes in India why not we say all indians are indians any should we ask one to fill up the coloum which community one belongs to at various levels. Ex School applications, election Id, Government supply card, etc. One filling up these applications one thinks that his community should get the benefit under various scheems and would like to up lift it first and so the clashes. There should not be any kind of benefits badsed on community but it should be puerly based on the individuals economic standards or earnings.

Religious bigotry and indoctrination are the bane of this country. Proselytising, at the expense of the majority religion, which has been tolerant by and large, and accepting other religious points of view. It is imperative for communal harmony to accept it as a fact that each individual and each community is entitled to practise and hold their own religion belief. Any disdain and contempt for other religions, even at the sub-conscious level, will result in tension. It is difficult and impossible to expect that all the persons in the society to follow the same religion. Acceptance of diversity and individual liberty is the sine quo non for communal harmony.

In India you will find that different communities tend to live in specific locations, so they never get a chance to observe the day to day life of other communities and realise that they're the same.
