proactiv made my skin worse too, but only when I used the whole kit. When I just used a little bit of the cleanser every other day (to start off with) it worked SOOO WELL. If it did to your skin what it did to mine, It might be scary to try it again, but it does work.

I know that there are some good creams for skin and cannot advise you in that regard. I was taught that diet was also important to cleaning up skin problems for after all, to a certain degree, we are what we eat. However, I know it is much more than diet for many people. However, good skin comes from the inside out.
One of my girls inherited her dad's skin problems. Rather than drugs our doctor made a few very successful suggestions. Daughter found that using Aveeno oatmeal bar on the affected areas, back,. upper chest and forehead, to be highly effective. She also stopped eating all greasy or fried foods and drank a ton of water. She also used it on her face daily.
And the biggie was, she stopped letting her hair brush on her face. This really cleared up her forehead quickly. Extreme cleanliness and keeping her hands off her face was also something she had to work at. Her long beautiful hair spent about a year and a half pulled back off her face, no bangs. Now, at 21, she can do whatever she wants with her hair and her skin is flawless.
Remember drinking lots of water also helps clean the skin as well.
She was ready to do anything rather than take meds! I know these are old fashioned ideas, but they do work.
Remember, Jessica Simpleton, er,, Simpson... is just a face saying words she is paid to say. Heck she is slogging pizzas these days in ads. I hope she did not sucker in tooo many young ladies.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

The best cure for your acne is your own body and your own immune system. You just need to help your body deal with it's own problem. What I mean here is that you must watch what you eat, don't eat unhealthy fast foods, eat more fresh vegetables, drink enough water, exercise daily and get enough sleep... Just by doing this you can help your own skin to heal itself, it will take more time to heal of course but once it does your problems with acne won't return as long as you take care of your health...
You may use a product or whatever, but if your body isn't healthy from the inside the acne will always return!

It's not all about the products, it has alot to do with your routine. Make sure you wash your face at least twice a day with an exfoliating cleansure. I use Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleansure because it exfoliates well but gently. After you pat dry moisturize with an oil free face lotion like Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. It has acne medication in it already. You may also want to use an on the spot benzoyle peroxide treatment on problem areas. Sometimes one acne medication isn't enough, and you need to mix it up a bit. Good luck!

i too used proactiv and every other product out there. then after i spent all that money on products and medication from a dermotologist does he tell me to try a plain bar of dial. It can't be just any one. it has to be the yellow/gold bar. This one doesn't have any added scents, and since that is what irritates a lot of peoples faces and skin of other areas this one really works and it's cheap. just lather up your washclothe. I just use it once a day when i take a shower before bed. It may dry out your face a little so get a moisturizer, again with no added scent. I use oil of olay active hydrating cream. you may break out a little during that time of the month but dial beats any kind of harsh chemicals that you put on you face. hope this helps

Go to your doctor and ask them if they would prescribe an antibiotic. During my teen years I tried everything. Antibiotics was the only thing that worked.
Be careful of everything that you apply to your face. Try to go as natural as possible. I have listed some sources to check below. Try to find more natural skin care products. Even shampoo and conditioner may be causing some problems if they come in contact with your skin.
I found that it was a try and decide about products. I have bad reactions to some things and other things work great. You will have to decide what your works well on your skin.

A Benzoyl Peroxide based cream like Quinoderm. It effectively dries the access oil that create spots. It sounds dramatic but is really really good, the only downside is you can get i little flaky skin but nothing a little moisturizer cant solve. Most brands have a gentle one to start with so ask the chemist.

Ask your dermotologist to perscribe Ziana- a new acne gel. It works. It dried out all my pimple in weeks. I still use it to maintain skin clarity and wash my face with Cetaphil and moisturize with Cetaphil. I tried everything under the sun, inlcuding accutane twice.
BTW...I broke out mostly on my forehead
