then why are almost all celebrities liberal democrats? Considering the majority of celebrities are rich and white.
Also how does it feel as a democrat to have some of your most well known representatives be celebrities? When celebrities are known only for superficial things, lies, gossip, scandals, drugs, and being ditsy/stupid. Very few are known for their brains.
I was just thinking about it. By the way I'm not Republican or Democrat, so don't bother trying to insult my party if you disliked my question.
But I seriously want to know the answers to these questions, I'm not trying to be insulting.

Yes of course these are all generalizations but of course generalizations are for the most part true, thats how they become one. So don't bother stating the obvious.

Well, the idea that Republicans are "rich, white people" is a slur from the other party. We do not agree. We believe in wealth building, through our own efforts, and that is not the same thing.
Limousine liberals go way back to the Great Depression. They created welfare to save their throats, after they had robbed the nation.
EDIT: NO, we do NOT know that "generalizations are for the most part true." Do not try to justify negative stereotypes, and then bash conservatives for racism when we point out some "generalizations" about the poor in the US.

I think you're ignoring people like Arnold Schwarznegger, Dennis Miller, most country & western singers, etc. who are not Democrats but are celebrities.
Certain untalented celebrities like Paris Hilton are definitely known for the things you mention, but I'm not sure that type of celebrity is involved in, cares about or is informed about politics one way or another.
On the other hand, actual movie stars, some singers and musicians, many TV stars--perhaps they are more likely to be Democrats because they have artistic professions where they delve into people's feelings and need to have empathy for others. Artists of every kind have been on the liberal end of the political spectrum down through the centuries because they advocate progress, learning, growing, helping others, improving the world.
From the perspective of a liberal, the far right folks only care about money, are uptight, are anti-sex, don't have fun, are rigid, live by antiquated rules in their daily lives, and don't know how to dance. :)
Would you rather be represented by that?

The description of Republicans as rich white people is a stereotype as well as a generalization, as is the opinion that the majority of celebrities are rich and white and only known for superficial things. While there is some truth to that consider that in a lot of cases all politicians become celebrities of sorts and they too suffer from scandals and the like. Politicians and celebrities are simple human beings who put themselves or are put by others on some sort of pedestal. Society makes them important but at the core they remain simple human and prone to human error.
To say that generalizations are for the most part true is incredibly ignorant. Generalizations exist because our society is plagued by individuals who are too lazy to examine facts and are comfortable repeating the opinions of others. I am sure that there are generalizations pertaining to you, but that does not make them true.

celebrities? most well known Representatives?
the only Representatives that matter are those in congress and the white house...
everyone else is entitled to their opinion... and it's a free country and you can say what you want...
but celebrities are in movies... they don't make policy... so they don't really matter...
and some celebrities do a lot... Bono, Angelina Jolie and others...and they donate millions and do a lot of charity work... and quite a few are intelligent... so you're vastly generalizing on that point...
and in reality, there are probably more poor republicans than rich... .it's just Republicans don't really care about those that are poor in the party... and the poor don't mind that they don't care...
there doesn't seem to be a real point to your question... unless you're assuming that the only rich white democrats are stupid celebrities?
that would be quite an assumption...

If Conservatives are all rich and white, Why do they have more blacks and other nationalities in office in the White House?
Many more then Clinton had, ( that's talking out of the side of your mouth.)
As for the celebrities telling who they vote for and make fun of the Republicans, I haven't seen one make any points as to why I should vote for a Liberal. Most are dumb as a box of rocks anyway. So , Yea sure they make lots of money , Acting. So I guess when they jump off a cliff , I should jump too.

Excellent questions and I'd really like to hear an answer to them. My answer is simple...part of democratic politics is glamour and celebs are very glamorous. Another part of it is that many democrats like to think of themselves as "the elite"..and so does Hollywood.
It's interesting that neither John Kerry or Al Gore attended (for obvious reasons) the fund raisers for them at the Playboy Mansion...but they still took the money!

Alot of celebrities have modest roots, or worked very hard at menial jobs before attaining success. They see things and are in touch with their fan base, which is your average person.
As far as celebrities being known for negative behavior, the fact is if a celebrity does something good, such as starts a charity or rallies for a cause, it is not really as newsworthy as one who destroys a BMW on the Freeway while being loaded on coke and in the company of three Swedish hookers.

all republicans are rich white people, but not all rich white people are republicans.
FYI I would argue that most celebrities are Republicans...most people don't mention that virtually all sports athletes (also celebrities) are republicans because they want to keep more of their obscenely high salaries.
