2 Years is not a lifetime or a major part of one. In the context of life it goes very quickly.
Why would anyone think this a problem, if you love one another and want to be together for the rest of your lives get married. Age is a secondary consideration or not a consideration at all as in this case.

2 years is nothing! I am 14 months older than my husband. I think age is only a problem when it is 7+ years, unless the couple are very young of course.

I don't see the problem here at all. What is 2 years? Men nowadays are marrying women much younger than them. You sound rather immature to me.

Who cares? If it's only a 2-year difference most people probably won't be able to tell which one of you is older. My mom is 8 years older than my stepdad. It's perfectly normal.

I married my husband nearly 10 years ago - he is four years younger than me - It works brilliantly well except for one month of the year May to June when I am five years older than him. For those few weeks he does make the odd comment about being a toyboy and me being a cradle snatcher!

Marrying a woman two years old than you is nothing.
1)Men age quicker than women on average, because they lose collagen in their skin at an earlier age than women, in fact it is hard to tell if a woman is in her twenties or forties because they don't lose collagen in their skin until they are in their fifties, however men lose about 1% each year. It is the good old female hormone oestrogen which keeps us women young.
2)Women live about 4-5 years longer than men, so if a woman marries a younger man she is less likely to be widowed.
3) So many illness occurs in men at a younger age than women, like types of dementia. I would say that women are better suited to younger men.
4)Also women have a later physical peak than men, men physical peak is in their teens and women's is in their 30s, at least sexual.
5)World wide there is more men in nearly all given societies until about 45 years old, after 45 years old there is more women in most societies, so go where the surplus is, for women it is to take younger men, and for men it is to take older women.
1in 4 women are married to younger men, and in the 30s and 40s age group it is 1 in 3 women are married to younger men. As women became more economically independent more and more women are choosing men for their beauty as apposed to their status.
I would only marry a younger man because of what I have written. In feudal Britain it was common for women to marry younger men because women had to provide a dowry .We are still recovering from the Victorian attitude were women married and spent on average 15 of their lives having babies. It is only in recent years that women have had the same work pay and opportunities, so now women are looking for men to marry who will be their equal, not a bread winner. My argument is shouldn't it be women who have younger husbands if anything? The reason why on average men marry younger women is because of tradition and nothing else and tradition never favours women. Also sexist attitude towards women, a woman is only seen as beautiful if she has a flawless face, men are considered attractive because of who they are, George Clooney has a face covered in lines and he is still seen as a sex icon.
I have an MA in social science, so I am interested in social attitudes, and why we think as we do.
