if you go to the doctor a preganancy test should be pretty definitive. they don't give you some cheap over the counter pee on a stick test. if you think you're pregnant they ought to do a blood test. there shouldn't be any second guessing, and if they aren't sure then they definitely shouldn't send you on your way and tell you that you might be preganant b/c you have swollen breast.they need to get you treatment. that sound pretty shady--first

second. if you're young and healthy there's lots of reasons for no periods.
1. weight loss
2. weight gain
3. stress
4. recent illness/sickness

there are also some medical reasons like pcos. a missed period can be caused by many things. it's not necessarily cause for alarm. a lot of really young girls are irregular for years when they're teenagers.
if you're concerned you should have your doctor perform a pelvic exam/pap smear to rule out any medical cause and inform your doctor of any exercise regimens you've started, new sports, weight change or lifestyle change (recent vegetarian), also let him/her know if you've been under a large amount of stress recently.

but pregnancy shouldn't be a maybe. you should know for sure.

You need to see another doctor, you cannot just tell from the way your breast's are looking. Get a home pregnancy test and find out. If you haven't got your period and are not pregnant, go on the pill, you need to be regulated, and the pill does not cause overian cancer and/or still birth. It may have caused it in a few women but believe me, there are millions who take it and have no problems.

Research PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) and see if you have any of the symptoms. I have PCOS and i only knew because i did not have a period for about 5 months so i went to the doctor and they did a blood test and sent me for an ultrasound and i was told i have PCOS. That was a year ago and i have only had 2 periods since then. I have just been put on Metformin because i am insulin resistant and that is what is causing my PCOS so hopefully that will help me out and i will start getting regular periods again.

go to a different doctor or take you own pregnancy test. can't you buy one at the store?

as for birth control, that is not true. please read up on the pill and other forms of birth control such as the iud or nuvaring.

are you on medications? do you have a history of cysts or the like? have you lost or gained a significant amount of weight recently? stressed for some reason?
