with a stateroom, 14 more seats (for her grandchildren, state-of-the-art communication equipment and a bed for her to get her beauty sleep on? She no sooner gets elected as Speaker of the House and she's already making demands? Won't this be at the expense of us taxpayers? I most definitely think it will - how else would she get it?

Jeff P: It is at TAXPAYER'S EXPENSE that she will get this plane if her request is approved! There is ALOT wrong with it! She's NOT the president!

I don't believe Democrats will change - they always look for ways to spend the taxpayer's hard-earned money - money that should stay in our pockets instead of going into theirs!

ArgleBarg: This plane is for HER PERSONAL USE!!!! She is NOT requesting this plane for military or official use - it's for HER and HER family! There is MUCH reason to b*tch!

The Air Force is considering her request. I don't think she should have a plane as big as the President. AND, she certainly should not be able to fly her extended FAMILY and entourage around at MY expense.

I hope the Air Force tells her where she can shove her request...

Incredible. I'm not sure grandchildren have ever been a qualified government expenditure. And haven't liberals been crying about the grandchildren getting stuck with the bill?

Since when are the aircraft of the U.S. military at the Speaker of the House bidding? I've never heard of this in the past, but I could be wrong.....just never heard of it before.

Okay, Now everyone on here knows that I am a radical Republican. If there is something to criticize Pelosi for that is legit, I am all for it.
She was set up. She was told that for security reasons she should get a military plane, then she just asked if she could take friends on it.
I am not interested in being mean about something like this. If you know anything legit, go for it, cause I really don't like the woman's politics.

For real??? And for all those democrats who think there isn't anything wrong with it, you guys might end up getting what you've been asking for and you won't be able to blame Bush for it!!! If this isn't a real kicker!

She is all hot air with her save money routine. She should be able to fly without a plane.

Cut military funding so she can fly in luxury? What is wrong with this picture?

Now that it has become national news, I believe that she will seriously reconsider this. Also, Democrats may intervene and ask that she make a less absurd request. Actually, I believe that all politicians should supply their own way back and forth to work, I do, no matter how far I have to travel.

interesting- people seem to be against the friggin speaker of the House to have protection against a terrorist attack. If you accually read any of the stories, you would see that the White House noted that the Ari Force under current rules was required to provide transport. And she wants a plane that can go nonstop to her Home in CA for safety concerns. I don't' see anything wrong with that at all.

Maybe she will drive a Prius to make up for it.

Now Hillary will want an Airbus 380.

first off... she requested it for her business use... only you chose not to believe that... so please cite where she said she wanted it for her personal use?

second, the Republican that held her position before her had a plane... at the taxpayer expense

third... she ASKED, NOT DEMANDED... I know Republicans never ask and always demand... but Democrats know the difference...

why didn't Republicans raise a fuss over Hastert's plane? hypocrites?
