Libby says that he discussed Plame's CIA status with Russert back in '03. Russert says, in no uncertain terms, that they did not.
If you were on a jury, and had to believe one of them, which one would you believe?

I personally would never trust anyone named I. or Scooter. Do his friends call him I.? Assuming that lying scumbags have friends that is.

Probably Russert. Its Libby's words against whole bunch of others who told different story. Russert told that he found about Plame's CIA status only after that phone call. So he knows for sure he couldn't have told Libby. And the evidence that Libby knew about Plame's identity well before that too.

I'd believe neither of them.

Russert said during his testimony that he didn't tell the FBI some of the things the FBI says he told them.

IE: Russert told the FBI he might have talked about Valerie Plame with Libby, but in court, Russert said he did not tell the FBI that.

So who would you believe, Russert or the FBI ?

How they can expect anyone to remember exactly what they said to someone 2 years before is silly to me, and especialy expect them to remember the exact date they said what.

The whole investigation was supposed to be over who told Novak about Valerie Plame, well we all now know that Richard Armitridge told Novak.

But Richard Armitridge did not know it was classified, so no law broken.

I don't think it will matter one way or the other what the out come of the perjury trial is, its all politics now.

Based upon all of the testimony thus far, I would have to say the Russert comes off as far more believable than Libby. I would vote guilty, were I on the jury.

Well, since Scooter Libby's own notes show he talked to other reporters about Plame's identity before he spoke to Russert, looks like Libby's lying. Now, if only Russert were a liberal.

Russert because Libby has had four or five different answers to every question.

Russert, probably. Libby has not exactly shown himself to be trustworthy. look at his stories. conflicting on the basic points. no good way to figure out who is telling the truth.

Libby. Russert has been both a pol AND a journalist. Were he a lawyer, he'd clinch the triple crown.
