Pwned: used by the Internet gaming culture, means to defeat an opponent in a video-game in a manner so harsh it is indescribable in words.

It really means that if you really badly beat a n00b (some one who is very bad at games) they were 'pwned'. If you want to see something that will teach it to you go to www.purepwnage.com and watch the episodes.
It is pronounced 'Owned'
It is spelt with a p because the gaming community type fast while playing their games, so as to not be pwned themselves, and they hit the p button instead of the O button, and it just kinda stuck.

I'm guessing, guessing mind you, that it's because we who cannot type properly depend on the actual shape and muscles of our hands to control which letters we type. I notice that I stretch my hand a bit too far to type "o" and so end up with "p".

It would be waste of research time to follow it further but thank god for spell checked!

Because the p is right next to the o on the keyboard and they dont use their spellcheck

o and p are right next to each other on the keyboard, and it's easy to hit the wrong key and not notice sometimes.

I think it might mean Pre-Owned???? If that isn't right it is a pretty good guess...

Because of the position of the "o" and "p" keys.
