Hiya,
I'm thinking about getting a birthday gift for a friend. Her birthday party is next week. What I'm wondering is, would it be rude to get her one, when I didn't get a gift for another girl that will be at the party? The other girl didn't have a party, so I think I was ok in not getting her a gift, but I'm wondering if she'll be hurt that I got the other girl a gift and not her. Thoughts?

The one friends birthday was several months earlier, and I"m equally close to both girls.

This is just an idea but first, what is your level of friendships with these two girls. If you are closer to the girl throwing a birthday party, then, I am sure, it's okay. Otherwise, that's a tough question. Depending on this other girl's birthday (was it recent), you could get her something and make excuse for the fact that it was late. I take it that you do not have any factors hindering you from getting gifts. Otherwise, a pair of nice earrings should do the trick.

The other girl would be hurt thats the TRUTH! but if you can't afford two gifts try to be discreet about giving the gift to the one has the birthday party coming up, maybe give it to her when the other girl leaves or when you have a chance alone or be nice and get the other one a nice late birthday present.

Get her a gift but don't present it to her at the party give it to her before hand or after that way the other girl will not know therefor will not have anything to be upset about. Oh yeah and buy her something little, don't go over the top so that she shows the other girl.

well if she's your friend... it wouldn't be rude...
whenever i have a party... some of my friends would give me and some won't... whenever i don't have any party... it's the same... some may and some may not...
of course others forget about it..
others have financial problems...
and lastly some others don't have the time to buy...
so it's fine...
if she really is your friend she would've understand these things..
not if she has feelings for you.... she would see it that you liked the other girl more than hers...
whatever happens maintain an open mind and understanding personality... so that you and your friend would not argue about it..

after all its 4 u to decide.....just act natural & i suggest u spend a lil more time with the other girl at the party 2 show her that u care......im sure she wont hold anythin against u if she really is ur friend......

Honestly i wouldn't be hurt...
So if she gets mad its her fault for not throughin ga party where she could have gotten a gift..

The other girl may be hurt, but youcan always say that you were told to by other guests coming to the party....

well dont worry about it if she didnt have a party, say it was a hospitality thing.....
If it is eating u up to not get her something, get her a little something now & give it to her at the party, just say you didnt have funds then

no this is not bad idea if you have that much of status means you will give to her also but you dont have that much money what will you do ??????
