I'm what's considered "lower class" and I'm a republican. I'm intelligent and did well in my studies, but I did not go to college as I was born with aspergers disorder (Makes it hard for me in social situations) I live with my wife and she's going to college. I work as hard as I can every day, slightly above minimum wage, and I'm a republican along with my wife. Whenever I speak of this with my "liberal" friend I cannot describe the anger they throw at me. Have democrats ever considered that maybe we think that stealing $$ from people who earned it is wrong? I'm a christian and I take that "thou shalt not steal" commandment very seriously as you can tell.
All that the democrats and liberalism will do is kill our economy, weaken us as a world power, and make people not want to work because they'd make just as much money sitting at home smoking pot all day. I do understand why anyone above the age of 18 would not see this.
*waits for people to call him a "fascist" and "bushbot"*

"Can you back any of this up, or is it forced fed to you"
Common sense. If you tax the hell out of businesses they'll have to let people go. That means a loss of jobs and less entreprenuers because it wouldn't make much sense to waste time opening a business when you know you're going to lose money. Factor this into an entire country and you've got one messed up place to live =)

Cassandra: If you let the rich have enough money, you know that they'd have an abundance. This is the reason republicans are more charitable than democrats. Democrats have no progress forward with economics, they just vote out of pure spite for people who make more money than them.

stickinthemud, that sounds like a very bleak existance. "Poor pride!" "Down with people who have it better than us!"
How about being happy of others' achievements and trying to improve yourself and perhaps get a promotion?

Chiselhead, the problem with people like you is you're out of touch with reality. Let's see how happy you'll be about not being a world power when china has us by the balls with superior technology.
And for the record, I'm not using faith to justify greed. For that, I would need to be rich. I'm looking for the improvement for all americans and I do not believe that throwing away everyone's work ethic will do them any good.

Time and again, it has been proven that when the economy is skewed to favor the top 1-5%, they will keep the money. Case in point- remember a few months back when gas prices approached and topped $3 a gallon? There was a hearing about why the oil companies were making record profits during this time. The CEO types weren't sworn in, at the insistence of the Republican leadership, and they said whatever with no accountability. A few months later, new leadership takes over. Look at gas prices today. A dollar less. Did OPEC release a billion barrels of oil at low prices or did Big Oil decide it was time to save it's ****?
You work at slightly above minimum wage. Can you live on that? Minimum wage was jacked up, over the red-faced objection of the Republicans. Do you like having money and the food, shelter, and conveniences that it brings? Or should the profits that you help generate all go into the pockets of a select few?
I don't understand why you wouldn't vote democratic. You may not want welfare, I understand that, but do you have to vote for the party that will put the top of the earning bracket above you every time?
It's not charity to demand a living wage, health care, and basically a shot to live a decent life in this country. I am a democrat because I believe in one part of the Bible:
"What you did to the least of these, you did to me."

probably because you are so radically fascist that you can't see the truth. The last democratic administration had a balanced budget, a booming economy, and alot more respect in the world.
Bush and his cronies (KBR, Big Oil, etc) have robbed this country to the tune of BILLIONS yearly, at the expense of the American worker and soldier. We are currently the laughingstock of the civilized world due to the current Republican/so called Christian zealotry. My friend, a wise man once said that patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels, and the Bushies are the very picture of this. By the way, what makes you believe that Democrats would have this country full of lazy, unemployed potheads? Maybe you need to lay off of whatever you are taking. And a "true Christian" would hold little concern about our nation's position as a World Power. Sure you're not a bit of a Nazi? Just an observation.

How do you pay your medical bills? Does your wife make a lot of money? If not the costs would be far too much without having to rely on welfare programs of some sort. Did you know 50% of welfare monies are for medical expenses?
Did you get a bump in pay after the recent minimum wage increase?

your views sound very naive and general... mainly fear based (oh no, Dems will kill America... when clearly they were in control during some of the most prosperous times in America?)
and taxes CLEARLY aren't stealing ... render unto Cesar... (actually put what you read into context)...
your views on welfare sound like they are from a cartoon... like everyone on welfare is lazy and anyone would chose to do that? come on now... do you really buy that?
yet apparently everyone over 18 should be able to see this?
what have Republicans did for you? a $100 tax cut? anything else?
first off, no one is taxing businesses more? cite it please?
in fact, Bush took all the taxes away from the businesses making the most money... do you pay taxes? big oil doesn't... and they made all-time highs in profit last year...
they used too, but Bush dropped them... apparently they couldn't afford them?
we just want oil to pay the taxes they always have paid... even during times of record profit... no more than they always have paid... which is an increase from Bush's nothing...

Lay off of the KOOL-AID
I would like to ask you how could "Liberalism" kill the economy.......when everybody know that the economy was much better when Clinton was in office. The national debt was 4 trillion dollars in 2000, even after Regan and Bush Sr. spent all of out tax payer money on nukes that we disassembled later on. Now the national debt is 9 trillion dollars with only 6 years of Bush. What the hell did he spend 5 trillion dollars on in 6 years.......the answer........Big Business Buddies. He gave out tax breaks to the top 1% of the people that we could NOT pay for. You my friend need to read some books and educate yourself.

I think they get upset because you are stereotyping them, implying that they are stealing and druggies taking pot. For example, my family is liberal Democrats, we don't steal, drink, take drugs, etc., we have liberal social views, but a conservative family lifestyle.

By "stealing money", I assume you mean taxes.
Are you then calling the U.S Military and the government for that matter thieves then? Because they run on the money that come from our taxes. And I for one am glad to have the military.
And the way you generalize liberals, I can easily see how someone can get angry at you. You see to have a narrow view of them.

You are very perceptive. There is a lot of resentment among those who aren't as rich as others. That is what most revolutionaries were about, they killed the rich and took their place while hoodwinking the poor who ended up just as poor after all was said and done.
