About a weel ago I noticed that my nipples were very sore and red, they almost looked like they had a bump on the end or something. I am 36 and never been pregnent nor can I get pregnant. Just today I noticed they have very obvious scabs on the tip of them. They have not been noticably sore for the last few days, and then all of a sudden, scabs! Anyone had this or have any serious suggestions???

Thanks to all of you. Whats worse is I had surgery yesterday and didn't even notice the scabs. I had forgotten about the tenderness from before. I will call my doctor tomorrow and ask. I just didn't want to be paranoid.

See is pain in the nipples are mostly a good sign that you have only an inflamation and not a cancer but however since you are 36 and also childless it is better you see a doctor immediately who will do mamograpy and other tests and confirm what you are suffering from and give the best treatment. Do not delay. All the best.

Really you need to see your Doctor, anytime you have a change (the soreness and redness), or discharge (not related to lactating) that's not normal, you could have something as easily treated as an infection. Please don't wait call your Dr.

I would get this checked out by the doc. You may have some dishcarge causing this or something else going on.
