Does this only apply to children since they are growing and require 3 square meals a day?

when it's crunch time, it seems ppl are most productive when they skip both breakfast and lunch.. just have a light snack and delay gratification until dinnertime.

Good question
Its true because you need energy from food to do the things you do on a daily basis. If you skip breakfast and lunch and eat a bigger dinner you are adding most of your calories in the evening before you go to bed. Through the night while you are not burning calories your body is storing them as fat and they become more difficult to burn the next day. therefore you become over weight and sluggish.

If you eat a good breakfast you can start burning those calories right away so it doesn't stick to you thighs and waist line. Then a light lunch and a modest dinner.

I have been seeing a nutritionist for 2 years now. And by the way I don't eat breakfast either :)

Not only children require a regular and healthy diet. All people sholud eat right and regularly.

I reccomend:

A healthy meal for breakfast ( not too greasy or salty, low in sugar)

a snack before lunch (fruit, yogurt, jerky, nuts, etc)

A healthy lunch (same criteria as breakfast)

another snack

and a smaller, Healthy meal for dinner.

if you do something along these lines in moderate quantaties, your metabolism will go faster, you will most likely sleep better and you will feel better.

Large meals for dinner give you calories that you are not using right away so they are stored...you guessed it..as FAT.

I personally feel best when i minimise salt and sugar intake.
no soda pop, maybe black coffee instead if you need caffine...

Breakfast IS sortof the most important meal of the day because it gives you calories to use all day.

This is just what works best for me...it is by no means an end all answer. but try a few changes and see what you think!

TRUE.

It is best for your body to eat something after getting up, even if you wait for an hour.

To Break the overnight fast.
It doesn't have to be much but it is important to eat.

I used to start work at 0600 and needed food before the break at 0800, so a couple of slices of toast and Vegemite tidded me through until then.

At 0800 the nearby shop would be open, by then, to get a steak pie, sausage rolls, toasted cheese and onion rolls or a toasted sandwiches.

Would have M/W leftovers from home for lunch, or home made sandwiches for lunch and a cooked meal in the evenings.

It applies to adults also. You are a larger mass than a child, you still require nutrients to keep running. Just like gas in the car. New or old you need gas. Newer models(kids) just need more oil changes as they wear in.
You need the sugar energy. 1 meal a day and it being at supper will give you a gut.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, not counting lunch or dinner.

True, and it applies to everyone. Skipping meals just makes you consume more later in the day which leads to weight gain and sluggishness.

I vehemently disagree with that contention (skipping breakfast and lunch.)
The word, in itself explains it's importance: "Breakfast" is actually that, the "Breaking of the evening-long fast."
It is the first source of the daily nutrition that the body gets to run.
Many of us seem to run our bodies in constant GO-GO-GO! mode, without taking the time to fortify our bodies so it can better operate.
Whatever you decide or may find in the kitchen in the mornings, EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST as it does provide the body ith these necessary nutrients.

I hate breakfast in general unless it's eaten at dinnertime.
