Yes. A lot of magazines claim that models exfoliate their lips by rubbing them with a toothbrush to slough off dead skin. This is not very hygienic or effective.

Try mixing a few drops of honey and a rough granule (salt or sugar). Apply to your lips in a circular motion to exfoliate. Rinse. Follow up with a little olive oil, vaseline, baby oil, whatever applied thinly over the lips. The exfoliation process also leaves lips with a nice pinch of natural color.

If your lips are severely cracked or bleeding, go with sugar since salt will sting more. You might choose to apply a thin layer of an actibacterial ointment (the gel type that looks like vaseline and does not have a pain reliever in it) to help heal and protect the cracked skin.

Use a gentle facial exfoliant on your lips and follow this with a hydrating facial mask. Cut 2 pieces of glad wrap the size of your lips, apply one piece over the mask on the top lip and one piece over the bottom lip. Leave this for 10 minutes, you should feel your lips warming up slighty. Afterwards remove the pieces of plastic wrap and rinse the mask off with cold water. Apply a layer of lip balm immediately afterwards.

Hope this helps you out

Olive oil, I'm Italian it works, oil is not water soluble so it has a tendency to lurk around even when you try to rid yourself of the oil residue, if you do it before bed your okay, same with your hands and feet, go buy your self a special type of sock from a spa, hand glove the same moisturize and leave on, it really works olive oil is delicious try you will see, eventually your lips will be like silk or a baby's butt

I have been told to use honey and Olive Oil overnight but none has worked for me. My lips are genetic dry. Nothing has been able to change it. There are times it gets less dry, but most of the time, my lips kept dry. Its a kind of sensitivity.

You need a B complex vitamin. Lacking B vitamin causes dry lips.

Also use olive oil or Vitamin E oil directly on your lips every night. Do NOT use chapstick or anything like that because they have wax in them and that will only make your lips looks drier.

a really good way is to put on the Vaseline petroleum jelly onto your lips and then take a toothbrush and scrub it gently. a machine one works best for me....right after your lips will be as smooth as a baby's bottom! then just apply a very small layer of the petroleum jelly or chap-stick to keep them moisturized. good luck!

I would use something that has shea or cocoa butter in it. One of the things I like to use is Blistex and now they make a gentle formula that even kids can use. Or simple petroleum jelly if u want.

Put a light coat of Vaseline on your lips at bedtime. It will heal and moisturize them.

when you go to bed at night, slather on lip balm or vaseline, that helps alot

also you can use a toothbrush to (softly) brush your lips, and it will remove the dead skin and make your lips smoother
