If not, who? I think Mitch Johnson.

So what if he has only played 2 matches for Australia!! That is not a necessity. Dan Cullen won it last year and he did not play his first match for Australia until after he won the award. Previous winners such as Shaun Tait, Shane Watson and Mark Cosgrove also won the award before playing for Australia.

Hilfenhaus only made his debut for Tasmania last year, and this year he tops the bowling lists in both domestic competitions, and bowled very well in the 2 matches he played for Australia. I agree that Johnston has done well, but he has been around for a little while now, and has been playing first class cricket for a number of seasons, but has missed a lot of cricket with back problems.

I do not think so as he has played only one day international and one Twenty/20 match and based only such performance he cannot be considered as Toung Cricket of the Year. Shane Watson or Mitchel Johnson can be considered for the above award.
