ringing of the ears "tinnitus".. is associated with several problems including exposure to loud noise, even aspirin overdose... as for hypertension, I hadn't heard that before...

Most likely it is because you've been exposed to too many loud noises. It means you have damaged your hearing a bit. It happens to me sometimes, and I don't have high blood pressure.
