Depends. If you feel that you like classic republicans, keep Government out of Private life (including Gay marriage and such- classic Reps are often against the institution or marriage as a legal institution) Fiscal responsibility and such.

Modern Republicans: Small government when it suits your needs, Family Values when small government doens't work for what you want to do, such as regulating Gay marriage and invading privacy for 'national security' (not a classic republican position by any means) Also in favor of lower taxes rather then Fiscal Responsibility to drive the deficit up in the name of Fiscal responsibility.

I was a Democrat , (and so was my family). Until the Clinton's got into office. Then the lies started,( such as the health care issue) etc to numerous to mention.
I am not for promiscuity, lieing under oath, the president getting away with breaking the law and getting away with it. ( the ordinary man can not). If you are impeached , you should be out of office. If you vote against everything, you should have some solutions to the problems also.
Now libs before you say , Bush drank alcohol., we can go lie for lie. . Clinton didn't use dope,( yea right) and it was proven he likes his drinking also. Bush was not the first to say WOMD. Kerry did! Then Gore then Clinton then Bush. I think they are all correct.
I do not want the soldiers to come back and have the terrorists follow them back here.

We were attacked enough while Clinton was in office. Lets not start a repeat, or the Dem's may have to start a War. Lets just get this one over with and do it right. Not like 1990 when we had to go back 15 yrs later.

I'm no rep hater but I do realize they run campaigns like a middle school kid. They use slogans that are childish and cliche' and easily understood even if untrue. Examples include "Cut and Run" and "flip flop". Amazingly, we Americans like things simple so we buy into it without question.

But main points also include:

-Religious values in our government. So if you're a Christian with old fasion christian values then gosh darn it everyone in America should think, feel, and believe the same. That's the only way to run such a diverse country....take out the diversity.

- Unrealistic spending plans such as cutting taxes while increasing spending (while we're in a deficit) and expecting us to have a surplus as a result

-Running a corrupt, almost oligarchy type government. Then complaining about the very people that call them on their corrupt actions.

-Not listening to reason. OK we understand the war is not going well and the president was wrong in his decision. It seems that everyone understands except for him.

I left out several, but it's 12:30am in the morning and I'm going to bed. So good luck all.

1. Common Sense (non PC talk...)
2. Morals (not accepting other people's argument in favor of promiscuity)
3. Family values - we value the family
4. We do not punish success with higher taxes for the successful
5. We value people over plants and animals but know that plants and animals are very important.

I used to know, but I'm not sure what happened to my party! Today, I'm just a conservative independent. That means that Republicans still usually get my vote, but ocassionally a Libertarian gets it for a protest vote.

The Republican platform is the same as the Democratic platform . It calls for the
gargantuan expansion of the size of government , suppression of the U.S. Constitution , undefended American borders , amnesty for all 30 million illegal immigrants , and the creation of a regulatory state that allows for the micromanagement of all human activity .

Repubs honor the accumulation of wealth and capital above all else. All other aims and functions of government/society are subjugated to their struggle for "more."
