depending on the state you have a set time to file a motion to over turn the default, most courts will allow you to when the motion you will have to file a declaration that you where not served a date will be set for the hearing on the motion. show up and tell them you where not served.

Depending on the jurisdiction, it is a request for judgement to be entered based on the fact that you did not appear previously.
