I am surprised non-Indians don't know about this. Indians, particularly from the north(Indo-Aryans) also have green, hazel, blue and grey eyes. People from the States of - Punjab, Kashmir, Rajasthan, gujarat, Maharashtra etc. can have light eyes and very light skin and hair color also. Some people from south India(dravidians) also have colored eyes.

The Indians don't believe there was any Aryans invasion from outside India, they are all Indians. The Aryans were peace loving learned people who write Vedas in Sanskrit. There was hardly any mixing of british and Indians since Indians are very conservative, they don't even marry Indians of other states, just people of their own religion, state, caste and sub-caste.

That is because the ancient Aryans who settled there thousands of years ago came in from the north and did not really get all the way south. they invaded and took over and bred with the locals. They had light eyes and skin.( like Vikings) The darker eyes and skin take over gradually but never completely.

I don't think there would be any Indian "natural" blondes but skin colors range from very dark amongst the Tamils and other Dravidians of the south thru to people with green or light brown eyes and light colored skin due not just to European ancestry but also Turkish and Persian ancestry. A lot of northern Indians are no darker than Europeans if they stay out of the sun. Look at Naveen Andrews the British Indian or Eurasian actor in LOST! He could pass for a very dark skinned Celt and I bet if he learnt an Irish or Scots accent or you put him in a Renaissance courtier costume for a historical role he'd do a great job. Ever seen the comedy program the Kumars? My younger sister (Anglocletic) had a school friend who was descended from Parsees. In summer their skin color / tans were almost identical!
