Will I get a chance to go to court to fight the wage garnishment before it is put in place? I have been making payments on the bill and would even pay it off but I need to be sure this collections company will not continue to try to get more money from me. Every time I make a payment the amount owed is wrong I keep oweing more and now they sent me papers saying on the 20th the will be in court to garnish my wages. My employeer also reaceived notice . Is there still time to go to court and get out of this? The court date on the papers is that for me to appear I would like to.

With your garnishment papers you should have received a paper to request a hearing. Fill that out and file with the court. Also make sure you have receipts of what you have already paid so you can adjust your balance with you court.

Your employer can't legally stop garnishing your wages until it is paid in full. The only thing that you can do is fight with the creditor over the correct total and they have to clear it up with your employer.
