Usually urine (you pee in a cup) very painless, sometimes messy! And a blood test (involves needles, usually doesn't hurt more than a pinch!) Usually within the day they will tell you if you are or are not!!!
Depending on the results, more tests will be necessary! If you are pregnant they usually through the course of your pregnancy will run tests for STD's, a current PAP, and things like gestational diabetes & tests for genetic disorders called an AFP (it's a urine test that measure hormones.) Also the almost always-fun ultrasounds!!! Sometime you can take a blank VHS tape to your appointment & they will record the ultrasound to take home & share!

A blood test will show if you are pregnant or not 7 days following conception and all they do is draw a little blood from your arm.
If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

they give you a blood test to find out if you are pregnant. it works basically the same way as a pregnancy test you would buy from a local pharmacy. pregnancy tests you could get at pharmacies are just as reliable now a days. if you don't want to go to the doctor, just go buy one.

My doc did urine tests for all 3 of my pregnancies but I had already missed my period and new I was pregnant. Then they did a pap smear and sent me for blood work just to make sure everything was normal.

You pee in a cup, then they tell you a few minutes later.
Unles you request a blood test, which is way more expensive. You might as well just pee on a stick at home.

They have you pee on a strip. It's identical to the pregnancy tests you can buy in the store!

A simple urinalysis (the test you have to pee in a cup for) will do. They may even draw a little blood. nothing too harsh, I promise

They will probably do a urine test unless you request a blood analysis. Also a pelvic exam.
