Yes, but the US was good enough to come away with a win. I wasn't that impressed with Mexico's offense, especially in the first half. I don't think they had one shot on goal for the first 45 plus stoppage. The US didn't look too hot either, though. And the first goal was just Donovan being smooth with his kick. Mexico got shafted throughout the second half. There's no excuse for messing up some of those centering shots. Both teams looked a beat soft to me. The US just looked less soft. For today, at least; they'll choke in the World Cup.

For Americans not being that good...... 8-2-1 since 2000 against Mexico, 7-0-1 on American soil with 13-0 goals scored on the homefront. I would say they aren't that bad. Diffinitely not the top tier of teams, but they aren't terrible. If they were, where does that leave Mexico? I am not a soccer fan one way or another, just curious as to why people's comments are not matching what I'm reading. No offense to any team.

Regardless of their lost, Mexico has shown that they have the required skills to win any other official match. They are in a good shape with the players they have, especially with Alberto Medina, Oswaldo Sanchez, Omar Bravo, Salcido, and Marquez.

If you think Mexico doesn't have anything to show then you are not a real fan, follower, of la Seleccion. Even if they lost, you have to be faithful to your team.

I think the only good national teams in America (Soth, Central and South ) are Brasil, Argentina and maybe Uruguay from time to time . USA it's at the level of a bad european team same for Mexico.

Donovan left cause he could not make it in Europe. There are 5 Mexicans signed to Barcelona. (#1 team in the world). u17 doesn't mean ****??? Why cause the US hasn't won one?? Italy scored an own goal vs the US, did you miss that part?? Italy is not a high scoring team, keeping them to one goal or scoreless is not a great accomplishment. Italy has been a defensive team for many years. They don't even score much vs teams that Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, usually blow out. Remember that in the WC qualifiers Mexico was the highest scoring team, and France was the lowest scoring team. Italy was close to the bottom. It doesn't matter the competition you still have to play the game, so don's day Mexico plays vs bad teams. Look at the overall record an Mexico still owns the US. When you get to atleast .500 AVG then talk.

Wait until Copa America and Copa Oro to see the real Mexican Team. Mexico is the U-17 World Champions. The top talent will be ready for next WC in S. Africa.
