Well, at least you have the avatar that you can customize at Y! Avatars. I'm still stuck with the silhouette thing, even though I designed one especially for Valentine's day and even have pics I could use for the occasion. It's been very frustrating.
But thanks to your question and others' answers, at least I know I'm not the only one left in the dark (pun intended).
