I don't know much about Roosevelt. But, Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, supplied at LEAST one third of all the raw materials and ores to Hitler's Nazi war machine and wouldn't stop until Roosevelt forced him with the Trading With the Enemy Act.

In my opinion, they were both smart and brave politicians. When the Third Reich and the United States had economic crisis, the two smart politicians adopted some communist economic means to recover their fatherlands, although they both opposed to communism. The difference between the two politicians was that the President Roosevelt advocated democracy and mixed economy, the Führer Hitler advocated autocracy and militarism. However, I want to point out that autocracy is much more effective than democracy in war condition.
