Just a quick point.. if your account was opened in CA then your deposit agreement is a little different then if it was opened in any other state. Unfortunately the system used in CA does not recognize the deposit as cash and you will not get immediate credit. You are given a 100 dollar credit whether you deposit a check or cash. If you have a CA account you must tell the teller that you need the cash "posted" immediately so that you can receive full credit for that day. Also BofA does not "turn over at 2" either so no matter what time you make the deposit you will have the rest of your cash available the following business day. If you do not have a CA account then sorry for wasting the space on your question! But maybe this can help someone esle who does have a CA account. EIther way you should go into a banking center and explain what happened if this is in fact your first time. Non-CA banks have a system they use that collects information from you and uses a formula to see if you qualify for any and possibly all of your overdraft fees. Last but not least SEE THE MANAGER, not the tellers because it is highly likely you will wait in the teller line to find that he/she cant help you and you have to see the manager anyway. Good Luck!

Depends on how much they value you as a customer. Does any of your family do banking with them? If so, you could say your family has a long history of doing business there and their commitment to customer service is why you want to continue doing business there for many years to come. Keep in mind, service fees, are always negotiable even if they say that they aren't.
BTW, if you can show them that you did deposit the money PRIOR to withdrawing the money, they will usually waive the charges since the problem really is due to their own slow procedures for crediting your account.

If this is your first overdraft, Bank of America should be able to refund your charges. Tell the customer service rep at 1-800-432-1000 what happened. Also tell the rep that you have a refund card for your student account (even if you don't) because you should have received one with your account packet.

Personal experience they will not. Sprint took out $780.00 twice on my account instead on $78.00 and Bank of America stated that they could not refund my money for the over draft fees, even after I got Sprint to fax a letter admitting their mistake. To be honest I have not had a pleasant experience with them.

Go to your local branch and explain your situtation to them. If you do not have a history of over spending your checking account, they may waive the fees.

If they won't waive it, just chalk it up a lesson learned.

It never hurts to ask. I've had fees at my local credit union waived when we asked.

Good luck on this!

You usually get a one-time waiver for NSF for the LIFE OF THE ACCOUNT.

Ask for the waiver if this is, in fact, your first time.

But please don't do this again and play victim.

It doesn't suit you.
