My UC GPA was a 3.19 or so. That was weighted. Actual unweighted GPA was a 3.4 or so, but they wouldn't take certain classes I had A's in which lowered my overall GPA. I was fine at the UC Davis level.

You have to remember it's all a sliding scale. The lower your GPA, the higher your SAT should be to fall into what they consider "acceptable" and vice versa. Davis isn't going to be as hard as UCLA/Berkeley. It'll be harder than UC Riverside (UCR sent my acceptance like a month or so earlier than everyone else).

Go for it. Apply early and get great letters of recommendation from your teachers.
