Societal Impacts of Computer Technology?

Has anyone read any interesting articles/texts that they could recommend?

Just a few of the things that come to mind for me......it has made many tasks more efficient, like paying bill on line, or buying a product on line. No mail, no shopping trip. But then some of those tasks which used to expose us to other human beings, which is/was a good thing!!

Too many children spend the majority of their free time on the web, not learning necessarily, but playing games & other entertainment type activities....has this been a contributor to the number of American children who are now obese?

There are far too many to list here, but......Modern Science, Medicine, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Publishing, Sales and Services, Just about every edition of any major Newspaper published since "Apple" kicked off will have something in it that deals with Your particular field of interest. Try looking at it from another perspective. The social impact on those of us who were too old to ever learn about computer technology, and how that has effected our ever shrinking world? I have patients who still do not know how to use the ATM or POS facilities at their local supermarket!
