If you didn't have income, you don't have to file taxes.

If you are just separated and were not divorced as of 12/31/06, you can still file a joint return with your husband if you want to, but you don't have to. That would probably lower HIS taxes quite a bit.

You dont have to file taxes, but like someone else said, it would help his taxes out a bit. If you guys are on good terms, figure out what he would get back if he files married filing joint versus married filing separate, and see if he will give you some of what the difference would be, since filing with you would probably give him a much bigger refund. Also...check to see if you are a community property state. Some states say that because you are married, even if you didnt have an income, if you file married filing joint, half of that refund is yours. See if you and your ex can work together on your taxes to try to get him a little more money and you some extra cash. If you go to hrblock online it will give you a quick estimate of what your refund will be.

I think that you would still have to and its usually cheaper to do Married-Joint. Your husband would have to pay the taxes.

If you don't file you WILL get audited.
Work for your self, work from home.
