I am going on a trip to Africa and I am in desprate need of money to get there. I was told it was too late to ask for grants. I was also advised to fundraise but with my busy schedule I don't have time. I am a high school junior and this is the most important year/semester therfore I can't afford to get a job. My mom is a single mother and I feel bad asking her (being that this is my 2nd time going out of the country and she's only been to Canada; as far as out of country) I can't wait until next year because the trip is in May and next year I will be going off to college...What shall I do???? I need help fast??? What can I do or where can I go to raise money

If you go to church, you casn talk to your pastor or priest. They might take up a collection from the parishiners to get you the money that you need.

They do things like that all the time if it is for a good cause.

Maybe you should concentrate on getting through school first. That is waaay more important that tripping around the world. You can always take a gap year or something when ur in college. Another alternative would be to get a job. That's what the rest of us do. There's no point in begging for it, you have to work for what you want. I'm surprised you got this far in life without realising it. Life is hard work, you'd be better off realising it sooner rather than later.

Get a job.
Trips abroad are pretty much out of the question for most folks.
If it's so very important to you, you ought to be willing to pony up the cash by working.
Or perhaps, postpone your travel until you can better afford it.
It's called "living within your means".....not many people know how to do that much anymore. Always have to have everything now.

if you only work 10 hours or less, you should have time to study, if you just know some time management skills. I worked at McD when I was a junior and senior in high school...it wasn't that bad, and I had plenty of time to study.

I would wait till you are in college and can travel abroad. Less stress on you and your family.
