Google the name of the site it sends you to along with virus as part of the keywords in the search. I'm almost pretty sure it is a virus or the like as it is a scam. There is a very particular program that is used to get rid of that icon but I can think of it off the top of my head being that having it and trying hard to get rid of it once was good enough for me.

Do a search for Ad-Aware. It used to be free but it's around $30 buck now. Or you could go full bore and really protect the hell out of yourself with Nortons. The site below will help you choose.

I currently use Norton and I love it. You can set it up to automatically update your virus definitions as well as run system scans and what not.

Very good tool.

verify your startup folder commence/courses/Startup and see if this technique icon is residing there and delete it. in the different case flow into interest manager and search for an unknown application thats operating, end the interest and see if the icon disappears if so you'll then understand the report call to delete.
