NEWSWEEK's latest poll (2/1-4/07) shows 72% of Americans disapproving of President Bush's handling of the situation in Iraq.

That invading is one thing, maintaining stability is another. I think a lack of understanding Iraq's culture, history, etc. wasn't taken into account. If Hussein was such a dictator and used violence to suppress violence, now we are able to see why.
These people will NEVER let the US or any western culture change what they have been fighting amongst themselves for centuries. Of course it was forecast that without Hussein, all chaos would reign. Killing off more than half their population just to gain stability isn't going to work and who wants that.
It's just getting worse and now other countries are threatening us. We are being considered bullies, and bullies always have bad reputations. A major change in strategy is needed. Someone that has more knowledge about warfare and of course a strong charismatic image that can lead us out of this mess.

It was a rash decision, in the wake of a new era for Americans... the world is an evil place. The situation now, has no happy ending for any body. Hopefully, the evil Iraqis will just kill each other and let the innocent ones live (but that's not really in their agenda), maybe then we (the rest of the world) won't have to worry about them.

This evil war was simply a way for Bush to steal for his friends. The majority of the world's people asked him not to start this horrible war, and he did anyway, because he is an arrogant sociopath. 3 years ago, I had friends and relatives block my emails because I was always writing with the truth about bush's lies. Now, all of these people have written, some openly apologizing, some sending articles of their own to show they now get it.

It's been a terrible period for America, and hopefully we've learned something. May we be forgiven.

I feel we're in an impossible situation. It seems impossible to know whether withdrawing or staying the course is the better thing to do.

It was wrong to invade, but we're there now. How can we help Iraqi's build a government?

This war is #%@#!^ awful. People have been brainwashed...Bushwacked...into believing it is about freedom. Good grief! "Let's go to Iraq and kill them and then they will see how great democracy can be!" That's NUTS. We need to get out of there. Do not get me wrong... I think our service men and women are great people, doing their jobs. It is Bush and Company that are war lovers. They (and their buddies) are making big profits! It is WRONG, IMMORAL, AND (*&@%^@# AWFUL!
