If you want to send a really free sms to any place in the world, the only you have to do is to go to wadja http://www.wadja.com
It is the only site that offers free sms and doesn’t have any hidden costs to the sender or the receiver.
Also users from all over the world have nominated as the best mobile social network for 2006
I think this is the best reason for preferring it.

Almost all messegners there days allow you to send messages to Mobile Phones.
You need to add the county code which is 91 followed by the mobile number and ur done.
I have used yahoo and rediff and they worked fine.
But after sending 2 messages the replier has to reply to ur message to get the next message from you.
When they reply back the message would be delivered to ur messenger.
There are sites like sms.ac which would allow you to send 30 SMS a day or so.
If you still need some sites go to google.com
